FAQ

What is Dynamic Zine?
Dynamic is a free, PDF-only Boku no Hero Academia fan zine! It will consist of both fics and art centering around the group of characters known as the Bakusquad and their friendship.

Who is in the Bakusquad?
We are considering Bakugou, Kirishima, Sero, Ashido, Kaminari, and Jirou to all be a part of the Bakusquad.

Is the zine SFW or NSFW? Are minors allowed to participate?
The zine will be SFW! And as there are no monetary costs involved, minors are allowed and encouraged to participate in this zine. However, we ask that applicants be 13+ due to Twitter and Discord’s TOS.

Will there be ships featured? What ships will be allowed in the zine?
Ships will be allowed between Bakusquad members only, but they should not be the focal point of contributors' pieces.

How many contributors will there be?
We will be accepting approximately 25 page artists and 15 writers, though this number is subject to change.

Can contributors apply for more than one position?
Yes, but in order to be as fair as possible to everyone in the zine, we will only accept applicants for one position each.

How will mods communicate with the contributors?
It will be a requirement to join our Discord server for communication purposes!

What are the requirements for applying? How should we prepare our portfolio?

SCHEDULE

GUIDELINES

General:
— Everything must be viewable, applications will be dismissed if things are not public/accessible. Please reach out to a mod if you need assistance!
— No NSFW samples or in portfolio. Failure to comply will lead to automatic disqualification.
— 3 samples that best showcase style.
— At least one BNHA piece is required. Bakusquad-specific pieces are not required but will be helpful as it shows us how you portray them.

Writer-specific:
— For writers, your samples must be 1-3k in length. Excerpts allowed, but one piece must be a full-length story as we are judging based on your ability to tell a story in a limited word count.
— Characterization and style will be judged.
— Please do not share direct Tumblr and Twitter accounts because they are often cluttered with personal posts. Instead, submit a specific tag or moment that showcases your work. Twitter threads are not acceptable as samples. Samples should be submitted in the form of an Archive of Our Own or Google Docs link.

Artist-specific:
— For artists, composition, anatomy, and color palette will be judged.
— We are looking for full-body pieces with semi-detailed backgrounds.
— Please do not share direct Tumblr and Twitter accounts because they are often cluttered with personal posts. Instead, submit a specific tag or moment that showcases your work.
